Understanding Cremation Urn Sizes

As a general rule, one pound of body weight yields approximately one cubic inch of cremated remains. Pieta Verre offers urns in four size categories to accommodate different needs.

Adult urns are designed to hold the full cremated remains of an adult, typically 180–220 cubic inches.

Companion urns hold the remains of two people and are generally 350 cubic inches or more. These are chosen by couples who wish to remain together.

Keepsake urns hold a small portion of ashes — typically 1–50 cubic inches — and are often selected when remains are shared among family members or paired with a primary urn.

Child urns are smaller in capacity and available in select designs. Contact us for guidance on sizing for children.

Pet urns are available in various sizes.
